ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL CHAPTER OF AMSA

We are the University of Health Sciences Antigua-School of Medicine Chapter of the American Medical Student's Association (AMSA). The purpose of this organization is : -

  1. To provide an environment that supports the creative ideas of physicians-in-training.
  2. To promote, encourage and maintain a cohesive relationship with the student body, faculty, and administration of the University.
  3. To serve as a forum for the discussion of health issues.
  4. To affect change in the medical education.
  5. To maintain its status as an independent organization.
  6. To maintain its primary identity as an organization for physicians-in-training.
  7. To promote and maintain programs which enhance the quality of healthcare in the community.
  8. To be financially independent and maintain a stable financial base.
  9. To continue to develop healthcare leadership.



AMSA MEMBERSHIP

Eligibility
Students currently enrolled in the University of Health Sciences Antigua School of Medicine are eligible for membership in AMSA. Members of AMSA are accepted without discrimination on the basis of race, religion, national origin, disability, sex, sexual preference, or age. Furthermore, it is understood that no members of this organization will, at any time, engage in hazing.
