Requirements for Puerto Rico applicants
To be eligible for admission, applicants must have at least 90 credit hours from accredited institutions. The Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) is not required.


The School of Medicine has no preference as to the major fields of undergraduate study; students should determine their fields of major study according to their personal interest. Most students have a BA or BS prior to entering the School of Medicine. However, students who have not completed the baccalaureate degree but have demonstrated academic capability may apply.


The undergraduate program must include:

General Biology or Zoology (with lab) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - 1 year (8 credits)

General Chemistry (with lab) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -1 year (8 credits)

Organic Chemistry (with lab) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -1 year (8 credits)

English - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -1 year (8 credits)
