Rural
In the Physician's Associate Rural Program (PARP), the student works side-by-side for nine consecutive months in a rural area with a local board certified practicing Physician where he/she develops the intense clinical and diagnostic skills necessary for practicing in less populated and medically under-served areas. The remaining clinical weeks in the curriculum are spent on electives.
Individuals interested in Physician's Associate Rural Program (PARP) must forward a letter to the Academic Committee at the time of their application to enroll in the medical program indicating their interest and commitment to practice or in donating their services to the rural and medically under-served areas after graduating with the Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree. The Academic Committee only approves those individuals who show interest and commitment in donating their services or practicing in rural and medically under-served areas upon receiving their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from our institution. |
