Students have the option to fulfill the Clinical Sciences portion of the program at our affiliated hospital in the United Kingdom, United States and Puerto Rico. The Clinical Sciences curriculum is designed to include the study of Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Psychiatric, Family Medicine and various electives permitted within the program. 1. Internal Medicine 12 weeks 2. General Surgery 12 weeks 3. Obstetrics & Gynecology 8 weeks 4. Pediatrics 6 weeks 5. Psychiatry 6 weeks 6. Family Medicine 4 weeks The total number of weeks of core rotations is 48 weeks. The minimum total number of weeks of electives is 30 weeks. A current listing of clinical electives offered at medical schools throughout the United States and other countries are available at any medical school library. Students are advised to contact these institutions directly either by phone or mail to obtain information regarding availability of specific electives. Some institutions may require a Dean's Letter of Good Standing prior to providing application or information regarding the availability of electives. In this instance a "Request for Letter of Good Standing" should be submitted to the Office of Registrations & Records. Examples of electives are: (1) Family Practice (2) Cardiology (3) Emergency Medicine (4) Anesthesiology (5) Orthopedic Surgery (6) Otolaryngology (7) Neurology (8) Radiology (9) Preventative Medicine/Infectious Disease (10) Electives in General Surgery. |
