Hospital Grand Rounds Physician’s Associate Rural Program (PARP)In the Physician's Associate Rural Program (PARP), the student works side-by-side for nine consecutive months in a designated medically underserved rural area with a local Board Certified practicing Family Physician where he/she develops the intense clinical and diagnostic skills necessary for practicing in less populated and medically under-served areas. The remaining clinical weeks in the curriculum are spent on electives which must then be completed in a hospital. The Program is designed for students interested in donating their services after graduation to the rural/medically underserved areas in the United States as well as other parts of the world OR for students interested in a career in primary health-care, particularly in a small town or rural and medically under-served areas in the United States as well as other parts of the world. |
