February 2022 Term - On-Campus and Online

We are happy to announce that the February 2022 term begins February 7th. Students who cannot travel have the option to study remotely from home for the academic term.

All basic sciences students coming to Antigua are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Students must follow any guidelines set by the Antigua government and UHSA. Failure to do so will result in not being able to participate in the educational program and possibly being denied entry into Antigua.

Students traveling to Antigua for February should begin planning now. We understand that some students may encounter difficulty arranging flights to arrive before classes start. We can make academic adjustments if necessary in those specific cases. Still, everyone should be here and in class no later than the end of the second week of the academic term. For more information on travel, visit the Traveling to Antigua section of the website.

We also realize that visa/passport access is limited in some parts of the world and will consider exceptions to remain online for these students. We also recognize that some students may face significant hardships that make returning to Antigua extremely difficult. While our goal is to return all students to in-person learning as quickly as possible, we will be very reasonable in considering exceptions for the February 2022 term.

UHSA is taking important steps to ensure the health and safety of our students.

While in Antigua, please be sure that:

  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is kept on person while in public.
  • Face coverings are worn at all times when in a public place.
  • Social distancing precautions are implemented at all times.
  • You frequently wash your hands throughout the day.
  • You keep disinfectant wipes and hand sanitizer on person.

**On-campus accommodations are currently under renovations. Therefore, availability will be communicated accordingly. We expect renovations to be complete prior to 2023.**

Off-campus student housing is located a short distance from the university campus. Living close to campus allows students to meet classmates and become familiar with the island. Accommodations include apartments, houses, and dorm-like facilities.

UHSA has designated the process of off-campus housing to Blue Palm Real Estates in Antigua to assist students in locating and securing appropriate accommodations that fit every need and budget. It is a good idea to plan to arrive in Antigua several weeks before classes start, so you have time to become acclimated with the island.
