UHSA is committed to supporting your educational journey through a variety of scholarships and grants. While funding is limited, new and transfer students are considered for these opportunities during the admission process.
Puerto Rico Physician Scholarship
The University of Health Sciences Antigua is committed to expanding access to medical education for students from Puerto Rico. This scholarship supports qualified applicants pursuing the MD program and reflects UHSA’s ongoing investment in developing future physicians for the region.
Awards are granted on a rolling, first-come basis upon enrollment.
Award Amount
Eligible MD students may receive up to $10,000 in total scholarship support, awarded as $1,000 per academic term throughout the duration of the MD program, contingent on continued eligibility.
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must:
Be newly admitted to the MD program (first-term or transfer) with a confirmed seat deposit
Provide documentation of permanent residency in Puerto Rico
Maintain satisfactory academic progress and remain in good standing with University policies
Applying
No separate application is required. All eligible applicants are automatically considered during the admissions process, and awards are issued upon confirmation of eligibility.
Note: This scholarship applies to students newly admitted for Fall 2025 and subsequent terms. Awards are not applied retroactively.
Prospective students are encouraged to apply early, as grant availability is limited and awarded on a rolling basis.
CARICOM National Grant
The University of Health Sciences Antigua is committed to supporting students from CARICOM member states and strengthening the regional physician workforce. This grant provides significant tuition support to qualified applicants pursuing the MD program.
Awards are granted on a rolling basis upon enrollment.
Award Amount
Eligible students receive a 50 percent reduction in tuition for all Basic Sciences terms, awarded each academic term and contingent on continued eligibility.
Eligibility
To qualify, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be newly admitted to the MD program (first-term or transfer) with a confirmed seat deposit
Provide documentation of citizenship in a CARICOM member country
Maintain satisfactory academic progress and remain in good standing with University policies
