Applying to UHSA

UHSA operates on a rolling admissions basis, with the following entry dates:

  • February, June, and October for the 2022-2023 academic year

The Admissions Process

Step 1 – Check the requirements:

Step 2 – Submit the required documents:

  • Official Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended.
    • Premedical students must submit their high school diploma.
    • Transcripts must be in English.
    • Unofficial transcripts may be uploaded to the application.
  • Copy of passport (if available).
  • Two official Letters Of Recommendation from individuals who can evaluate past academic and/or professional achievements.
    • Must be in English and appear on original letterhead stationery.
    • Must be sent directly from the individual giving the recommendation. Letters sent from the applicant will not be accepted.
    • May either be mailed to the below address or emailed to
  • Personal Statement of no less than 400 words.

Step 3 - Undergo a remote interview:

Upon receipt of all required documents, the Department of Admission may schedule an online interview with the candidate to evaluate his/her motivation to study medicine.

Step 4 – Expect a decision:

The admissions committee meets once per week. You will receive an electronic communication from the committee once a decision has been made.

There is a nonrefundable application fee of 75 USD that is payable online when submitting your application.

Apply for Readmission

If the last school you attended was the University of Health Sciences Antigua, and you are returning to UHSA after being away for a term or more, you may apply as a readmitted student.

If you are returning to school and UHSA is not the last school you attended, you should apply as a transfer student using the button above.

When applying for readmission, there is a nonrefundable application fee of 1000 USD that is payable online when submitting your application.
