Apply to Medical School

You’ve worked hard to earn the opportunity to attend medical school, and applying should not be complicated. We offer rolling admissions and accept applications throughout the year, and completed applications are reviewed weekly.

The Doctor of Medicine program enrollment start dates are January, May, and September. Clinical transfer students can apply and begin at any time during the year.

Premedical Sciences enrolls each September.

The Admissions Process

Step 1 – Check the requirements:

  • Official Transcripts from all colleges/universities attended. Transcripts must be in English or include a word-by-word certified translation done by a translating agency. Original non-translated transcripts must be sent directly to UHSA Admissions.
    • Premedical students must submit a high school transcript.
    • Unofficial transcripts may be uploaded to the application.
  • Two official letters of recommendation from individuals who can evaluate past academic or professional achievements.
    • Must be in English and appear on original letterhead stationery.
    • Must be sent directly from the individual giving the recommendation. Letters sent from the applicant will not be accepted.
    • May either be mailed to the below address or emailed to admissions@uhsa.edu.ag.
  • Personal Statement.

Step 3 - Undergo a remote interview:

Upon receipt of all required documents, the admissions committee may schedule an online interview with you to evaluate your motivation to study medicine.

Step 4 – Expect a decision:

The admissions committee meets once per week. You will receive an electronic communication from the committee once a decision has been made.

UHSA has reinstated its application fee to allow candidates to be reviewed by the admissions committee in a timely manner. A non-refundable application fee of 50 USD is payable when submitting your application.

If you are returning to UHSA after not being enrolled for some time, you may apply for readmission.

If you are returning to UHSA after enrolling in another medical school, you must apply as a transfer student using the button above.
